About the company
Brain-computer interfaces and bionic hands
Han Bicheng started BrainCo as a PhD student at Harvard. In 2018 Hangzhou brought the company to Future Sci-Tech City. BrainCo reads muscle and brain signals without surgery and uses them to control bionic hands and legs, at a fraction of the price of Western prostheses. Dozens of robot makers, including Unitree, buy its robotic hands.
BrainCo develops brain-computer interfaces, including EEG headbands for focus and sleep and prosthetic hands and legs controlled by nerve and muscle signals. Bicheng Han, then a Harvard PhD student, founded it in 2015 in Somerville, Massachusetts, and moved its headquarters to Hangzhou in 2018. In January 2026 BrainCo raised about 2 billion yuan in a round led by IDG Capital and Walden International and, according to Bloomberg, filed for a Hong Kong listing. It is one of Hangzhou’s ‘six little dragons’.
Around 30% of revenue comes from abroad. The bionic leg carries a CE marking and the Revo 3 robotic hand is on sale online in the EU. Top athletes such as Jannik Sinner train with the FocusCalm focus headband.
