Hu Qing Yu Tang胡庆余堂

Hu Qing Yu Tang makes traditional Chinese medicines and runs a historic pharmacy on Hefang Street that also houses a museum of traditional Chinese medicine. The merchant Hu Xueyan founded the pharmacy in 1874 on Dajing Lane at the foot of Wu Hill, in today’s Shangcheng District; production now takes place at a plant in the Linping Economic and Technological Development Zone. In 2026 the company, Hangzhou Hu Qing Yu Tang Pharmaceutical, holds approvals for 182 medicines, according to its website. The 19th-century building has been a national key cultural relic since 1988.
